Session Replay & Digital Experience Analytics

Session replay and digital experience analytics are a core pillar of LogRocket's feature set. But LogRocket augments this functionality with two other feature areas that enable a comprehensive understanding of the user experience:
- Product analytics provide a quantitative understanding of user behavior that complements the qualitative data from session replay
- AI-powered struggle detection provides actionable insights into how to improve the user experience, eliminating the need for a guess-and-check approach
What is Session Replay and Digital Experience Analytics?
Traditional session replay and digital experience analytics tools are built to provide product and marketing teams with a qualitative understanding of user behavior. Most of these solutions started as pure session replay, then expanded over time to include other qualitative analytics features such as heatmaps, path analysis, and in-app feedback. They are good solutions for understanding user behavior and generating hypotheses for product improvements.
How is LogRocket Different?
Session replay is helpful for empathizing with users and understanding what behavior led to an issue. But a replay alone won't provide all the information; it doesn't tell you why an issue happened, how pervasive it is, or what you need to do to fix it.
Discoverability is also difficult; you either have to wait for users to tell you about a problem, randomly watch many sessions in hope of discovering insights, or drill down in analytics based on drops in KPIs. By the time a user tells you something is wrong or you notice a problem in your analytics, hundreds or even thousands of users have already suffered through a poor experience.
Beyond just session replay, LogRocket provides the technical and US data you need to understand why something happened and how to fix it. Furthermore, LogRocket uses that data to surface areas of struggle significantly affecting your users so you can find problems before they're too widespread.
Technical Data
In addition to showing you what users did (individually with session replay, or in aggregate with digital experience analytics), LogRocket captures detailed technical data -- console logs, JS and network errors, stack traces, client-side performance data, browser metadata, and custom logs -- to explain both why users had a poor experience and what you need to do to fix it.
Struggle Detection
LogRocket's Galileo AI also identifies moments of user struggle by "watching" every session and pinpointing where user experiences are impacted by either technical or usability issues. Rather than requiring you to watch hundreds of sessions in order to pick up on trends or to find user struggle, Galileo AI proactively picks out those moments for you and provides the information needed to understand what needs to change, alongside session replays that validate the issue.
